Quick answers

What does this tool do?
Split a PDF into single pages or custom ranges. Separate a PDF into individual pages, or split it by ranges such as "1-3, 5, 8-10". Each part downloads as its own PDF (or one ZIP).
Is it free?
Yes — free and unlimited, with no account required and no watermark on the result.
What files are supported?
PDF files, up to 100 MB each.
Where is my file processed?
Entirely in your browser. Your file never leaves your device — nothing is uploaded to a server.
What are the limitations?
Splitting is lossless but page ranges must be valid — out-of-range numbers are ignored with a friendly error rather than guessed.
What happens if processing fails?
You get a clear message explaining what went wrong and how to fix it (try another file, check the format, or start over). Your original file is never touched.

Common problems and fixes

  • The download button does not do anything

Why: some browsers block programmatic downloads after inactivity, or the disk is full.

Fix: allow downloads for this site in the browser settings, then process again — the job itself is instant for small files.

  • Pages end up in the wrong order

Why: the selection order differed from the thumbnail order shown on screen.

Fix: re-check the page order in the preview list before running the job; the tool applies exactly what is shown.

  • The output file will not open in my viewer

Why: the download was interrupted, or the viewer is very old.

Fix: download again and check the file size matches; if it persists, try a different PDF viewer.

Who uses Split PDF?

  • Admin and HR staff — combining scans, forms and letters into one packet — up to 1 file of 100 MB each per job.
  • Anyone sharing part of a document — extracting just the pages someone asked for instead of sending the whole file.
  • People fixing scans — rotating upside-down or sideways pages before the file goes out to a client.
