Disclaimer

Last updated: August 2026

Paperly provides free browser-based PDF tools. Please read this disclaimer before relying on any output the tools produce.

Output should be reviewed

PDF processing tools can have limitations. OCR may misread text, conversions may lose some formatting, compression reduces quality, and automatic operations may not handle every document structure.

Before using processed output for official, legal, medical, financial or archival purposes, verify it carefully against the source document.

No warranty

The site and tools are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantee that any tool will work with every file, or that output will be error-free.

Some files simply cannot be processed correctly — corrupted files, unusual PDF structures, complex fonts and password-protected documents may fail. That is a limitation of the format and of browser-based processing, not a defect in the tool.

You remain responsible

You are responsible for the documents you process and for how you use the results, including complying with any laws or policies that apply to those documents.

Specific tool notes

Tool groupWhat to watch for
OCR and text extractionText may be misread, especially on scans with low resolution, skew or unusual fonts
Conversions (to Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Complex layouts, tables and styling may not transfer exactly
CompressionQuality is reduced; very aggressive compression visibly degrades images
Automatic operations (page numbering, watermarks)Verify placement, especially on documents with mixed page sizes
RedactionReview the redacted output to confirm nothing sensitive remains visible

These are inherent limits of the PDF format and of browser-based processing. They are not defects, and no tool can guarantee perfect output for every document.

FAQ

Review any processed output against the source before relying on it. OCR, conversions and compression can introduce errors, so verification is your responsibility.
