Everything you need to get the most out of Paperly. If your question is not answered here, contact us and we will help.

Getting started

  1. Open any tool from the homepage or the Tools page.
  2. Choose a file — most tools accept one or more PDFs; some accept images, Office documents or other formats.
  3. Adjust options if needed (basic options are visible by default; advanced options can be expanded).
  4. Click the process button and wait for the result.
  5. Download the result — everything happens in your browser.

Uploading files

  • Drag and drop a file onto the upload area, or click to browse.
  • Your file is read into browser memory — it is never uploaded to a server.
  • Large files may take longer depending on your device and browser.

Processing and downloading

Most tools show progress while processing. When finished, a download button appears. The downloaded file is the only copy that leaves your browser — to your device.

Troubleshooting

  • “The PDF appears password-protected” — unlock the PDF first, then run the tool.
  • “Could not read this PDF” — the file may be corrupted or in an unusual format. Try repairing or re-exporting it.
  • OCR returned poor text — OCR accuracy depends on scan quality. Try a higher-resolution scan.
  • A tool is slow — very large files are limited by browser memory. Close other tabs or try a smaller file.

Privacy

Every tool runs in your browser. Files are never uploaded, stored or analyzed. See the File privacy page for the full detail.

Per-tool help

Each tool page includes its own help text, a list of related tools and a short FAQ. If you are stuck on one specific operation, start on that tool page — the answer is often right there.
